Learn The “Why” Behind Internet Marketing
If you are not having much success online, I want you to answer ONE simple question.
Here is the question:
WHY DO PEOPLE WANT…?
…sorry, for the incomplete question, but that is the point. Now apply this question to your niche.
Why do people want to lose weight, make additional income, quit smoking, get a new car, go on vacation…
If you can answer the “WHY” behind marketing any industry, I can assure you will have given it enough thought to succeed with any campaign you launch. I think that you will also discover that there are several answers to this question within any specific industry, and this is where you can start catering to smaller niches.
Let’s just take a look at a couple examples:
**Weight Loss
Why do people want to lose weight? I am sure there are several reasons.
(1) To promote Good Health may be the primary reason.
(2) They may want to fit into a bathing suit for the upcoming summer weather.
(3) They may want to improve their dating life and or impress someone special.
(4) New years may have just passed and losing weight could be their resolution.
And this list could go on and on……
If you read into this industry, things that may not seem so apparent initially, but will become quite obvious fairly quickly. You could easily promote this industry using these four reasons with very targeted campaigns. I can assure that a campaign based on the reasons mentioned would be much more effective than trying promote to people under a general keyword term like “DIETING”!!!!!
**Making Additional Income
Why do people want to make an additional income? Well, the obvious reasons would be so that they can have more freedom, and spend more. Eventhough may be true, are we answering the real question here?
People may want to make additional income because they have just lost their job. People want additonal income because they may need to get out of debt. People may want more money because they hate their day jobs. People want more money because they don’t want to work forever. People want to make money so when they retire they do not need to depend on social security. People want to make money to help with tuition fees or for extra money while they go to school.
If you promote the term “make money” in Google, you are not targeting an audience…you are targeting a market. You need to target a specific audience if you plan to be a successful Internet Marketer. People typing in a term like “make money” will not reveal which audience they represent. A college student might Google a keyword phrase like “easy way to pay tuition bills” or “earn money while going to school”. If you can construct a targeted site for college students, you could really tap into this niche market…
If anyone is having difficulty creating a successful campaign, they should think about the “why” before promoting to the audience. If you cannot figure this out, then chances are that you will not be able to deliver the right information to the right people. If this is the case, stop what you are doing and move on to the next industry!

Optimizing Your Squidoo Lens
Introduction
Advertising to your Niche doesn’t need to cost an arm and a leg in Pay Per Click costs. Not when we have a monster of a tool like Squidoo, that provides you with a free registration, and the ability to pump out lens after lens without fees or costs attached. What else can an Internet Marketer ask for, with a tool like Squidoo at their disposal. Let me tell you something! The Search Engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN love Squidoo’s ability to provide their customers with highly relevant results for their search efforts. They are highly ranked as a PR7 blog site, which means you have the opportunity to get exposure to anything imaginable if you know how to get your lens recognized.
What is a lens? A lens is simply your personalized landing page provided by Squidoo. You can add whatever content you please to the lens and tag it with keywords that identify what the lens is about. Remember that word RELEVANCE, it is very important. If your tags are not highly relevant to your content, then your lens will be less likely recognized by traffic, and therefore you can write off the chance of any search engine ranking. It just ain’t gonna happen. To put it in a nutshell, all we need to do is learn how to become efficient article marketers using Squidoo. Article marketing with Squidoo is a great starting point for any Internet marketers. It can help you earn the seed money that will allow to invest in other components of your business, or allow you to earn a continual stream of income from your articles.
Optimization
Optimizing your Squidoo Lens is no different than optimizing a standard landing page.
The Rule of Thumb is as follows:
1. Relevant Headlines for each Module
2. “Call to Action” links using your Affiliate links or personal website links.
3. Break up text with relevant images
4. AVOID using long paragraphs of text without links or images, or breaks in between.
5. Un-Max your lens so that your article content is the focus of your page.
6. Add fresh content to page by adding an RSS feed module.
Tags
Tags to your lens are just as important as adwords are to your PPC campaigns. As I mentioned before, tags describe what your lens is about. This is the main reason why Squidoo articles get picked up by the Search engines under the keywords that you choose to write the article about.
Maxing Your Lens
Is it a good idea? There is a debate about “Maxing” your lens. Maxing lenses does nothing for your marketing efforts. It will create other links to appear throughout your lens that are related to your lens topic and work as a distraction to your lens traffic to click out and go to someone else’s link. I hate to sound greedy, but I want all my traffic to myself as possible. Therefore, I recommend you scroll down the right hand side of the page under “Lens Stats” and un-check the “Maxed” box. If you see “Why Max” then leave it alone.
Monetizing Your Lens
Highly optimized lenses can generate streams of income. With Squidoo the more you have the better. Remember! They are free to create, and not every lens you make is going to generate income. I suggest if you are new to Squidoo, get comfortable with creating a lens and learn how to use the the social networks, forums and even your personal friends to help drive traffic to your lens. Your objective should be to get quality comments in your Guest-book, get your traffic to Favorite your lens, Lensroll it, and Rate it. All of these actions will help make your lens rank soar above the rest. It is also recommended to share your lens on the social networks. Setting up links on sites like Digg.com, and StumbleUpon.com, and the like can help drive backlinks into your lens.
More and more traffic is the bottom line. A consistent traffic flow into your lens will push up your rank and get those income streams to open up. You have the power to turn on those streams as high as you desire.

But I can tell you is the wealth of information you get in the tutorials they have mapped out for you in their in 8 week action plan and the amount of information you get from their members forums is enough to earn a PHD in Internet Marketing. They really provide you with every tool under sun that one needs to become sucessful as an Affiliate Marketer. The only challenge you face is staying focused and not distracted with all of the information that is literally thrown at you all at the same time. The best way I was able to manage the complexity of my puzzle was to target a specific course that outlined what I needed to do and when in a systematic order. Lets face it! That is all we really need. If you have a resource like Wealthy Affiliate keeping you up to date with all of the changes on the marketing end and a map to get you to your destination, it will only be a matter of time before your hear the sweet sound of your pay pal account ringing and uttering the words ” You Have Arrived At Your Destination“.

The Internet world is so amazing and is constantly changing due to its huge growth, expansion, and demand. More of us join the arena to figure out how people are making life changing incomes in this radically changing environment. My suggestion is to limit the amount of money you spend for these products. Get as much FREE information as you can get and fine tune the money that you will have to spend. You can be certain that your education and tools in this business will come with a price tag. It will be up to you to clearly define the pieces of your puzzle, and identify the resources and tools you will have to purchase to get it the job done.
